Globalization

The Problem
Advance in Technology has made the world to be like a global village. There is increased contact and interaction between people of different continents and nations. This has resulted in increased global trade. This has force Kenya to adopt a free market economy and legislation. Consequently this has increased the people’s cost of living. It has made local entrepreneur to be unable to effectively compete with foreign investors. It has led to loss of employment and reduced gross domestic product.

Globalization has also led to the influx of foreign and diverse cultures that has greatly affected the social and moral fabric of our society. Drug and human trafficking has become a major problem to the country. The country is loosing its young and energetic work force that seeks greener pastures abroad.

Policy Vision
Shirikisho envisions a country that benefits from the effects of Globalization where Kenya reaps from the increased global trade, tourism, sports and technology. We also envision a country that is capable of protecting itself from the negative effects of globalization for example, protects its local economy from foreign domination and maintain its social and moral values.

Action
Shirikisho will:

1. Enact legislation that discourages harmful foreign cultural activities like drug and human trafficking.

2. Enact legislation that checks the free market and liberalization concepts to preserve economic dominance to the locals.

3. Strengthen institutions that promote our cultural values and national heritage such as the national museums of Kenya and the local film industry.

4. Ensure increased participation in arena in economic, social, political and technological activities.
