International Relations
The Problem.
Kenya is a country among many others in the world. It cannot live in
isolation. It has to relate in one way or the other sovereign entities like itself.
This is why Kenya is a member of United Nations. However how Kenya relates with other
countries is fundamental to its domestic policies, economy and social advancement.
Kenya currently is seen to be supportive of the only global power that is the United
States of America. Kenya supports the U.S in its quest to introduce a new world order
which introduces liberal democracy, free market economy and a global social order.
However, the U.S stand has met fierce opposition from socialists’ states such as
Cuba, Venezuela in Latin America, Iraq, Iran and Syria in the Middle East and North
Korea Asia. There is also great opposition from Muslim fundamentalist groups such
as Al-
On the other hand Kenya has taken a mediating role in conflicts closer to home. It played a key role in mediating for a resolution of the Sudan’s and Somali’s internal conflict. Kenya therefore needs to redefine its foreign policy and take an unwavering stand on the global stage. This is currently lacking.
Policy Vision.
Shirikisho desires to see Kenya as a non-
Action.
Shirikisho will:-
1. Ensure that it ratifies and adopts all international treaties that are universally accepted.
2. Will not sign and ratify treaties that will lead to global division and possible conflicts.
3. Support any reconciliatory position in any international conflict.
4. Support regional initiatives such as the East African Community (EAC), COMESA, IGAD, AU etc.
5. Support global measures to protect the environment.
